It Starts With Me (for 5-7 year olds) and It's Up To Me (for 7-11 year olds) were created by teachers for use by teachers, and are based on ten of the key concepts of Investment in Excellence, our core programme for teaching and support staff. Teachers and support staff are therefore required to attend Investment In Excellence or STEPS before using It Starts With Me or It's Up To Me with children. This combination of staff well-versed in The Pacific Institute curriculum and the application of It Starts With Me and It's Up to Me in classrooms makes a significant contribution to the growth of children's self-efficacy.
Designed for flexible use across Key Stages 1 and 2, the materials help to develop the inter-and intra-personal skills of children by teaching them the thinking skills that build their self-esteem and self-belief. They enable children to believe that they can set and achieve ambitious goals for themselves, whilst also being able to cope and make choices in a fast- changing world.
