Scottish Accreditation for STEPS® and PX2®
We are delighted to announce that The Pacific Institute has successfully gained accreditation for STEPS® and PX2® through the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework ( SCQF ).
The approved qualification Effective Thinking Skills has been granted SCQF level 5 status, this holds parity with England’s QCF level 2. The accreditation panel has endorsed STEPS® & PX2® as the recognised learning routes to the award.
The panels endorsement determines the qualification to be suitable for 14-19 year olds in the public, private and voluntary sectors. The award is aimed at young people wanting to develop their life skills within existing educational systems and employment , and will be extremely effective for those young people on the periphery who are traditionally hard to reach.
The qualification is also considered suitable for learners 19+ and adults community learners. It is deemed generic in nature and therefore could be undertaken by a wide range of learners in a number of settings.
The Scottish accreditation will significantly increase the opportunities to source additional funding and to provide learners with measurable outcomes.
Across the UK, the four nations, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, each have their own regulatory requirements in terms of National Accreditation, with the recent success in Scotland, TPI UK has now secured status across all four nations.
